What's the use of a "gaming laptop"? Why not use a normal PC?
  • anonymous2 · 11 months ago
how about gaming? regular pcs have lower specs than gaming comps too.
  • anonymous3 · 11 months ago
how about laptopping? regular pcs have larger spaces than laptop comps too.
  • LaughingJoker · 11 months ago
    Note all the time...
  • Duude · 11 months ago
Yes they do all the time.
Especially when comparing in the same price-category, which you always should.
  • Kate · 9 months ago
When comparing in the same price category, as you should, that is true. However, if you have a computer (laptop or otherwise) that's considered a gaming computer/laptop, it should have a big enough hard drive that it wouldn't matter if the PC has a bigger one. I use like 30% of my space on my laptop, and I'm a gamer.
  • joe · 9 months ago
if ur thinking value for money why dont you invest in a computer that is upgradeable? thats the problem with laptops, they get outdated in no time. waste of money if u ar a gamer. desktops all the way.
  • HUH? · 6 months ago
Actually... somewhere in my house lies a 6 year old laptop that only cost £500 new and it will run rings round most new ones. You can't get a laptop with really high speed processors any more.
  • Kate · 9 months ago
I use a 'gaming laptop'. Many colleges require for students to own a laptop, so if you have one, you might as well get a good (fast) one with a good graphics card and play games on it. It also makes it so you can game wherever you want instead of alone at your house. At my college, my whole group of friends hangs out on laptops, often gaming.
  • satanspimp666 · 5 months ago
lol..kinda hard to bring ur PC with you to places like..idk Iraq..lol but idk..even when i wasnt overseas i preffered a laptop takes up alot less space..plus transportability makes it cool

I don't see the point in this Laptop, sure it would be awesome.. but isn't the whole point of laptops so they are mobile? I couldn't see anyone using this on a bus, or at their school. Unnecessary bullshit for people with too much time and money.
  • dave · 11 months ago
    blablabla concept
  • Duude · 11 months ago
    yes
  • tommy · 11 months ago
I wonder how much one would weigh, and if it would be worth carrying around.
  • sadf · 11 months ago
i would pay thousands for this no joke.
  • ko · 11 months ago
i can see how having a wired mouse on this could lead to problems with the extension directly on the side of the main laptop area. not that it would be completely invasive to the normal, natural placement of a mouse, but it could get in the way occasionally.

    A. Too big
    B. Too much power consumption. Battery life: 30 seconds
    C. Too little of a video card for that resolution; fps < 30
    D. Way too heavy
    E. Should be a desktop
    F. Obviously fake
    G. Buy a Matrox Triple Head 2 Go instead.
  • herbie · 11 months ago
    A. Find space.
    B. Plug it in.
    C. Because you already know the specs.
    D. Learn to lift things.
    E. Then put it on a desk.
    F. Read: "concept."
    G. Piss and moan about somebody's concept, but instead of being able to build anything better, tout what you wish your parents bought for you. Baww.
  • Duude · 11 months ago
    A. It's a laptop
    B. It's a laptop
    C. It's a laptop
    D. It's a laptop
    E. It's a laptop *facepalms*
    F. well yes it is, it doesn't change the other points though.
    G. This isn't built (and never will)
The triplehead thing is just to add more screens. Which is what this does, with the useful difference that you don't have to take it with you.
mentioning a brand might seem dull, but maybe you are too.
  • rawr · 10 months ago
    really... really????

no shxt its a laptop. the whole purpose is portability.. being able to carry your information to any location you want.. which you cant do with a desktop. so what you may have to plug it in or have it sit on a desk. (god forbid)

please keep in mind that people buy laptops for lots and lots of reasons. some people use it for web surfing and taking notes for class.. they need laptops that are light and easily stowed in a bag. this is not the intention for this particular concept.

me? i got sick of lugging my desktop every time i had to move in or out of the dorms, but i still wanted to game. so guess what i did.
i got an asus g1s gaming laptop. its battery life is horrible. its heavy and large. but i still love it because it made my life easier.
this concept is perfect for me (and maybe not for you, so dont harshly criticize someones concept if you cant apply its usefulness to yourself).
plus... if and when the technology allows for adequate storage, heat ventilation, and performance i cant WAIT to bring this baby over my friends house and watch them drool over my fxckin pwnage laptop that converts into a widescreen gaming utility .. or plug it in sit it on a table and viola! a large, portable dvd player.... yes. totally worth it.
  • BGFear · 11 months ago

  • The_Du · 11 months ago
But we all know this isnt going to go into production. None of the cool concepts ever do. Look at all the concept cars that never went in to production
  • minimax · 11 months ago
    How much??
  • anon · 9 months ago
This isn't a cool concept. It's a self-defeating concept. It's a laptop that's too big to be *conveniently* portable, while still having the space constraints of a laptop that will prevent it from having the processing and rendering power of a comparably priced desktop.

The only thing it has going for it is that it looks cool.
  • minisean · 11 months ago
I would love to have a laptop like that!

So when you slide the screen down, you know, OVER THE KEYBOARD AND MOUSE, how do you keep playing?
  • steve · 9 months ago
use external wireless keyboard + mouse. many prefer to game with a real mouse anyway.
  • Laurel · 9 months ago
I'm an old lady and I think the Prime is rad!
  • drools · 9 months ago
This isn't portable in that you can necessarily use it everywhere, but you can take it anywhere. For those who use it at their place of residence and take it to a friend's, etc, this is great. For me, though, I need a laptop that I can take out on the bus or in the car to check my email, but still be able to game when I'm at lanparties. If I had the money, though, I'd get one of these in a heartbeat if only to use at home -- because it's still nice to relocate within the house, which a desktop cannot (easily) do.

*raises hand* I'll do the beta testing for the small cost of a free one when its complete. :P
